No that concept was used for stories and movies like left behind but its not in the bible. what the bible says is.

2 Thessalonians 2:4
He will exalt himself and defy everything that people call god and every object of worship. He will even sit in the temple of God, claiming that he himself is God.

So the antichrist will sit in the temple of god claiming that he is god. what is the temple of god? the bible says

1 Corinthians 3:16
Don't you realize that all of you together are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God lives in you?

he will sit among us claiming to be god. no physical temple. and even some christians will be deceived.

one thing to think about.. when someone is given authority like the president it is said he is seated in office. so the antichrist will be in a position of authority over us claiming to be god

I got this online from the "Jesusalem Chronicles"

For over 2,000 years the Jewish people have been without a Temple in Jerusalem, but the Bible states that one day the Jewish people would return to their own land and rebuild their Temple. Over the last 57 years, since Israel became a nation again in 1948, and especially since 1967 and the Six Day War, when the Israeli army captured Jerusalem and the Temple Mount, there has been a major move among the Jewish people to rebuild their Temple. In October of 2004 a new Jewish Sanhedrin was established for the first time in 1600 years.

The former Sanhedrin was the legal-religious governing authority in Israel when Jesus Christ was on earth the first time. Last month the new Sanhedrin elected a head, along with seven committee members to oversee everything. Their primary objectives are two-fold. First, they want to become, once again, the legal and religious governing authority in Israel. And secondly, they want to rebuilt the Temple.

Architectural drawings and plans are being brought together right now in order to expedite this. Yes, a Temple is soon to be rebuilt in Jerusalem. Everything is in place for this to happen, and when it does, we as true followers of our Lord Jesus Christ will know of a certainty that our time of redemption is close at hand.

The above is proof that we are most definately in the last days. The third temple in Jerusalem is being built now. Youtube has many news videos regarding this event. Check it out.

the only thing in the bible about the Solomon's temples existance is where Jesus tells his followers that it will be destroyed. It doesn't say anything about it being built again. Christ was the supreme sacrifice. When he died on the cross there was an earthquake that split the temple veil in half putting an end to the need for sacrificing lambs to cover sins. Whether or not jewish people in israel rebuild a temple makes no difference. How would the antichrist sitting in a jewish temple have any affect on christians, muslims, buddists, ect. if you read the scriptures in various places it plainly states we are the temple of god.

"And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, and will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty."
2Corinthians 6:16-18

"Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God; and are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone; in whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord: in whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit."
Ephesians 2:19-22

I just go by what the bible says not man's made up theories.

One more thing that Jesus said about the temple in jerusalem.

Mark 14:58
"We heard him say, 'I will destroy this Temple made with human hands, and in three days I will build another, made without human hands.'

so there are atleast 4 verses talking about the temple of god not being solomon's temple. I used to believe the 3rd temple being built as a sign of Jesus returning but after studying the bible there are no scriptures to support it. its just not there!

The temple Jesus was referring to Mark 14:58
in was His body. They tried to destroy it, but He rose again in 3 days.

Mark 14:58
"We heard him say, 'I will destroy this Temple made with human hands, and in three days I will build another, made without human hands.'
