First of all, the simple fact that you are asking this question is an excellent indicator as to the answer. Let's get started, shall we?

As Christians, we are asked to do certain things. We are asked to love God. A lot. We are asked to love our neighbor. We are asked to preach the gospel to everyone.

Are you doing those things?

The Christian lifestyle is defined by us following the commands I listed above. We should do those things.

At the same time, we all repented when we were saved. We had to repent in order to be saved. Repent means to turn away from sin. In other words, we must desire to NOT sin.

Sin can be defined as breaking God's law. The ten commandments. We don't have to keep the commandments to get into heaven, because of the awesome gift of Christ's death and resurrection. However, we should seek to keep the commandments in order to please God.

We are supposed to love God, remember? John 14:21 says that . . . well I'll let you read it for yourself.

So, getting back to your party . . .

Do you plan to break the commandments? Music is not inherently a sin, unless it causes you to break a commandment in thought or deed. Do you plan to play music that causes you (or anyone at the party) to break the commandments in thought or deed?

If you can answer that question, then the answer to your question is clear. If you plan to sin or play music that causes someone to sin, then the party is not a good idea.

Otherwise have a blast.

I agree with Liar, as long as you don't sin I don't see a problem with the party in itself.
