I have been going through a lot of pain is God doing something with my life?

In the last 2 years I have been going through some pain that I don't really want to talk about. Is he making me stronger? Is he working on my faith? Is he planning for me to do something great in my life?

It depends what type of pain you're talking about. If the pain is being caused internally, meaning by you, then no. It's true that the Bible say that hardships will work to strengthen us and refine us but that's only if those hardships come externally. We cannot impost pain on ourself and say "Oh, Look! God is working in me".
If, however, the pain isn't in your control then maybe God's trying to teach you something. The best example I can give you is in the times of Paul when he complained about a thorn in his flesh. That most likely was a physical hindrance. And he said that God assured him saying, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power will be made perfect in your weakness." 2 Corinthians 12:9.
I encourage you to pray and seek God's guidance. If God wants to teach you something, be ready to learn it.
