Indeed, masturbation is heavily debated. However, like arsenome stated, there are some sins as a result of masturbation. For starters, if you are thinking lustful thoughts of anyone (excluding your spouse) then that is a sin. It is also a sin if you are addicted to masturbation because we are to not be addicted or controlled by anything.
