Extra Question Details:

My nephew is a christian who got caught by the devil. He was convicted of false inprisonment and is on probation. He pplays wonderfully and has an awesome voice yet the church will not let him do either! Is this the way a Baptist Church should act toward a convicted felon?

I can't find any specific verses supporting the church on this, so I believe that the church should forgive him. If we are going strictly off of the Bible, then they should forgive as we know that nobody is perfect and all have sinned (Romans 3:23 and 1 John 1:8). However, they could have some kind of policy or church rule of their own that says convicted felons can't serve with them (for whatever reasons they believe to be "good") so I cannot say whether they are right or not based off of that. Biblically, however, they should forgive him.
