Extra Question Details:

I have brother that knows the Bible well yet he does some things that are contrary (at least in my opinion) to the Bible when it comes to his family. He likes to say when he has helped other people in the commmunity yet he has family members who need his help and he doesn't help them.

James 1:22
"But don't just listen to God's word. You must do what it says. Otherwise, you are only fooling yourselves."

Matthew 7:3-5

"And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?"

7:4 "Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye?"

7:5 "Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye."

Matthew 7:16
"By their fruit you will recognize them. Do people pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles?"

Many people tend to become too righteous and forget that they are easy prey to the pits of the enemy. Pray that God reveals to him the error of his ways. Do not be the one to tell him and try not to judge, for the same measure that you judge, you too shall be judged. Just pray that God brings his behavior to the light so that he may change.

In my opinion, it's ok to tell him directly. The Bible gives us permission to correct or rebuke others in 2 Timothy 3:16-17: "All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be competent, equipped for every good work." You are helping him by telling him directly, and it is also what we are supposed to do.

You can correct him, but try not to judge him for we are all capable of making mistakes and none of us are without sin (Romans 3:23).
