The Passage that which you were referring to is found in 1 Corinthians 11:23, For I have received from the Lord that which I also delivered to you, that the Lord Jesus took bread. (in the night that He was betrayed) And after giving Thanks, He broke it and said, Take, eat! This is My body, which is broken for you. Do this in remembrance of Me. In the same way also, having supped the cup, He said, This cup is the new covenant in My blood. Do this as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me. For as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, you solemnly proclaim the death of the Lord until He comes. So that whoever shall eat this bread and drink this cup of the Lord in an unworthy way shall be guilty of the body and the blood of the Lord. But let a man closely examine himself, then let him eat of the bread and drink of the cup in this way. For he who eats and drinks lightly eats and drinks judgement to himself, not seeing through to the body of the Lord. For this reason, many among you are weak and sickly. And many are dead. For if we examine ourselves we would not be judged. Each time we partake of Communion we should immediately recall the pain and suffering Jesus bore for our sins. Eating the bread we should remember His flesh torn and wounded. The cup, His blood escaping from His body. This is not a time to let the mind wonder: football games, dinner, family gatherings, the people in front or behind or seated with you. As His servants we should use this time to dwell on Him and the Heaven with Him to come. The reason we take Communion is to remind us that we are imperfect without Jesus. You will continue to make mistakes but, loving God and people is how you should live.
