Extra Question Details:

The bible is full of God demanding people be killed, left and right. Entire towns being razed in "Holy Destruction", because one member of that town spoke out against God. What is loving, perfect, and forgiving about that?

Your conclusions are because you have been falsely so taught that God is some kind of love child from the sixties; but the true and living God is no such thing, that teaching is secular, worldly, humanistic, and not according to Truth.

Dear AW, I think most of the incidents you refer to were during and after the period of the Exodus and the taking of the Promised Land. God was seeking to establish the Hebrew Jews as His own people in a world full of pagan and heathen religions and social practices. Coming out of Egypt the Hebrews were mostly paganized as evidenced by their making and worshipping the golden calf (Exodus 32).

Had God not dealt swiftly and decisively with this paganism, the Hebrew Jews would have been lost in the swirling sea of false religions and social practices. God started humanity out in the idealized environment of the Garden of Eden. After the sin of Adam and Eve and their expulsion from the Garden several thousand years of rebellion, evil and wickedness resulted in the many pagan/heathen cultures in existence in the time of Moses and the Exodus.

It is the promise and hope of Christianity that after all accounts are settled at the end of this sinful age, God will establish a new and perfected Heaven and Earth in which there will be perfect love, peace and forgiveness. In the mean time, we suffer under the burden of sin and rebellion.

Hope this answers your question.

Thank you so much for this answer!
More often than not, my questions have been answered with judgmental words that completely avoid the topic.
This answer was informed, intelligent, and very helpful.
